ABSTRACT Overweight and obesity are increasing globally even in developing nations. Nigeria currently does not have national figures on overweight and obesity in adults and adolescents. This shows that it is not yet seen as a priority despite the associated risks. Public health interventions need to be on ground to battle this problem and community health workers should be at the forefront of this intervention. Their knowledge and understanding of obesity is of utmost importance. This project will address questions on how well equipped they are in fighting this epidemic. The findings will be utilized for designing appropriate public health intervention strategies.
